So I'm currently looking to completely rebuild my 7 year old rig, I've decided to go zen for my CPU. My question is though, should I get the 1080 Ti, bearing in mind that although I plan on adding an IPS panel monitor quite soon in the future (due to having them at work), should I wait till aftermarket vega 56/64's come out?

Planned usage: Gaming and some photoshop/3DS Max, video editing.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,624.78
(includes shipping: £0.00)

Or if I went Vega 56

I already have a Corsair 540 case.

P.S. sorry for the crappy picture, I do have the chrome extension for the OCUK cart but some reason it isn't working.

What resolution monitor are you going to be using ? A GTX 1080 ti is suited to 1440p (144hz/165Hz) or 4K.

The Vega 56 and 64 are not quite as powerful as a 1080 ti. The 56 is equiv to a GTX 1070 and the 64 a GTX 1080 although you can flash the 64 bios onto the 56 card to give it a bit of a boost and bring it up towards the Vega 64.

As for your parts list you could look at going with a cheaper motherboard such as the Asus Strix B350-F assuming you don't need SLI support. And if you swapped the cooler out for something cheaper (Alpenfohn Brocken 3) then you could bump the cpu up to a R7 1700/X. If you want an AIO then the Corsair H100i GTX is £50 cheaper at £89.99. You will need an AM4 bracket for the H100i GTX if you go with that cooler, which you can request from Corsair.

Also Ryzen likes fast Ram so you want to be aiming for 3000MHz - 3200MHz.

The Crucial MX300 SSD is better value than the Kingston.

And last of all the Seasonic Focus Gold 650W psu is a bit cheaper.

Thank you for the feed back. I'll give the parts you have pointed out a look. To be honest this is the first AMD machine I have ever put together, all my other rigs have been intel and nvidia.

I currently have a 1080p monitor, though I'm planning on upgrading this to a 1440 IPS panel.

So here is another basket. Including a 1440p monitor ( I know nothing about what makes a good monitor though, so advice here would be appreciated.)

built a 3ds max ryzen build for a friend that will also be doing a lot of CAD & Raytracing that is heavy on the CPU so opted for Ryzen 7 1700 and overclocked .

-just saw you changed out to a ryzen 7 which will be good but you can drop the X version to normal and overclock it yourself . should hit 3.7Ghz across all cores just fine :) then can have fun and push higher

would personally push for @8 Pack ram over the corsair - hes tested it on the board and if you do run into any issues - im sure he'd lend a hand. not sure if hes pushed the 3200 kit to 3333hz on the board but i know he got the more expensive 3600hz to 3333 on your chosen board
