Just a short in-betweeny question, as I haven't played any Warhammer games before. Don't want to hijack this thread, but I'd like to know:

How does Dawn of War II compare to Starcraft II and Supreme Commander 1 as a single-player game (I don't like multi-player)?

I enjoyed DoW II a LOT more than SC1. Not played SC II. The campaign in DoW II was really enjoyable, and I liked the way you focus on just a few units rather than building up a huge army. It's more comparable to Company of Heroes (same engine), than SC. The original Dawn of War was more like SC 1, and is still a great game to play through now and then.

DoWII SP is about as far as you can possibly get from SupCom1 :p Its practically the anti-SupCom. A small group of heroes as you progress through the map using cover and skills to your advantage (until you get to boss fights which tend to be tedious) compared to a gigantic full scale war with 100s of buildings and units and artillery and nukes and resource management and giant fortress-like bases and more units.

Thanks for you replies, Guys, I get the picture now.
Still don't quite know if I should be buying this, I'll have to think about it.

Mainly it's because I haven't got very much time, so I like to spend the time I do have with something I know is worthwhile.

im just curious, does anyone prefer the DWII series better than the original series...

and im curious if anyone knows why they changed???

i really dislike the new ones, i prefer building what i want, not getting select units.
