*** Pre-season Friendlies Thread ***

I shall be watching the game tonight live in glorious high definition, thanks to the fact that TV2 in Norway have it on the main football channel.

(Man City on now, ESPN)

Lindegaard; Veseli, Ferdinand, Wootton, Brady; Lingard, Carrick, Scholes, Macheda; Hernandez, Berbatov.

Macheda...is there a point really?

Bit of a shop window for Berbatov maybe? Let potential buyers know that he still remembers how to kick a ball.

As they said in the commentary, it was a bit of a naughty one.

Hernandez needs a little toughening up, do the boy good. As long as he doesn't break anyway.

Macheda 1-0. Nice finish, good assist from Berbatov.

I think Lingaard has looked very promising so far.

Edit: **** me this shirt is horrible. Every time we get a close up I cringe.

I was just thinking, why have we never tried Berbatov as a creative midfielder. Have I smoked some bad granola or is that a worth a shot?

Not a bad finish from Kiko. Looks as though he has had a few too many bowls of Pasta this summer, getting a proper little gut on him

I don't think he really covers enough ground to do that. His short passing and control is his best asset really so he's best as part of a front two.

Pirlo doesn't cover a massive amount of ground either in a slightly deeper role but Berbatov is very hard to knock off the ball and does pick rather a nice pass. Surprised given our issues last year in the middle that he didn't get a shot at it.

Italian league is a much slower pace, I doubt Pirlo would do as well here (maybe at his peak but certainly not now.)
