EDIT Aug 12 2019:Let me start by saying I was wrong and I apologize for any misinformation I supplied due to my ignorance. I was aware of Third-Party Monitoring Tools not being as accurate as Ryzen Master and I just ignored that fact all together.

I have started testing with Ryzen Master only now to see what the actual clocks on my Ryzen 3600X really is.Although I still get over Max Boost as what is written on the box so I have no recourse to complain to AMD or refund my CPU'S.Also they are still fast little CPU's Still happy.

I have only witness Cinebench20 hitting Max Boost on 2 cores as of testing today.I will test some more with different BIOS and if any change is observed I will post back.

Updates to Precision Boost Overdrive Override for the AMD Ryzen 3000 Series can give an addition 200Mhz added to what is printed on the box.

So I was wondering how much over max boost can you get on a Ryzen 3xxx CPU and did AMD LIE lol.

Motherboard MSI X470 Gaming Plus + 3600X
Max Override Boost 182.1Mhz on 1-6 of 12 cores for total up to 4582.1Mhz.
Settings Used
My Settings for boost up to 4580Mhz
OS-1903 Build 18362.267
AMD ComboPI1.0.0.3
AMD_Chipset_Drivers_v1.07.29.0115-Release -July 30 2019 with AMD Ryzen™ Power Saver Plan
BIOS set to Enhanced Mode 4 for MSI Motherboard

My settings for videos boost up to 4525Mhz gaming/Cinebench
OS-1903 Build 18362.267
AMD ComboPI1.0.0.3
AMD_Chipset_Drivers_v1.07.07.0725-Release Day -July 7 2019 with AMD Ryzen™ Power Saver Plan
BIOS set to Enhanced Mode 4 for MSI Motherboard/LCC CPU/SOC 2

Anyone have any luck going over max boost clock.

Video showing max over boost in a couple games and Valley Benchmark 1.0 running 4K where you need every Mhz J/K.

Guess my 3600X is getting like that AMD fine wine treatment with age:Boost now up to 4580Mhz.

I turned it on once, didn't see any improvement in clocks, only higher temps. Turned it off again.

It's only really worth it if you have very good cooling. It works wonders under water.

Haha.

yeah. Turned it on, maxed everything in Ryzen master and gave me weak scores in all benchmarks.

Probably good if it worked as described but for now seems broke under my cooling at least.

Silicon still is a part of how far individual cpus will boost/overclock. But, it seems the 6-core cpu have less issues cos their target boost are lower. Agesa 1003 still have not resolve the issue based on deBauer's findings. Not sure about 1003ab.

OP, i think you make me regret getting the 3600. I'd lucky to see 4.4GHz.

I'm on ab and it still sucks. I can get far more performance outside of pbo for benchmarks and far better volts also.

It's pretty bad for us 3700x users.

The all-core boost of the R5 3600 and R7 3700X is the same at stock in my experience. Both get to ~4.1 GHz. Single core boost is obviously higher on the R7 3700X though.

Whos seen the 3950x box?
On my 3700 I get just shy of 4.4 for the briefest of moments under pbo. However I can get it rock solid to 4.40 manually OCing.
Tonight I try for 4.5 but I've a feeling it won't go that high.

4.3 solid in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Seems to be all cores too. But usually high load is around 4.1 to 4

What settings? Even 4.3 at 1.5v doesn't work for me Cinebench crashes and PC reboots, this is simply changing voltage and frequency.

For 4.3 All Core, I did it on 1.45 volt, got 5050 in CB. I can't go higher on all core due to the cooler not coping and crapping out at 95%.

I've got a single core at 4.4 benching CB single core no problem. However all my over cores are automatically downclocked to 3.5, even with me manually setting them to 3.7.

It's a funky chip for sure.

I struggle to see the benefit of going for 4.4 single core over 4.3 or even 4.4 all core. Hardly every single core going to be used solely.

To see what the max OC I can get. Once I've had my fun and PBO is working, I'll be using that or ECO mode.

Until then, I like to play.

I bought 2 X 3600X and one still did not arrive yet .I did not buy the 3600 because I did not think it would be able to hit 4400Mhz.
I got the 3600X thinking I could get 4500Mhz with a chance but not likely 4600Mhz on at least one core,so now i have some hope on the 4600Mhz boost with improved BIOS but as humbug said I may be at max with 4525Mhz.
Anyway 4525Mhz on 4-6 cores while gaming and light loads is great and I will take that without regret over the extra cost for the 3600X.Another Bouns got my X470 with ebay deal 20% off so it cost me a tenner for the motherboard.AMD win win win.

I'm on holiday at the moment, but here's a picture from playing battlefront 2 at 1080P with a 3700x. This is with pbo off, but the temps do get pretty warm, around 75 degrees.
