I think you're missing the point. Her job is to get viewers attention so Im sure shes fine with chocolate on her face if it works.
Kinda crap telly but whatever, more foolish would be if your program has to be cancelled because its boring and nothing much happens on it

its about expectations I think. xxx movies are mostly boring and predictable. garraway getting dunked only works so long as its something new

even better would be if there was some controversy or intrigue, maybe a behind the scenes hissy fit or gossipy type action is what people would go for I think.
Its the implied not the explicit which stimulates peoples involvement most
