President's/head of state's/prime minister's Vehicles

I am everywhere...
Hi there just wondering if you can help me put together the various vehicles used by the different head of a nation when they are out and about in the public, at home and at oversea.

What are the security system mounted or built into them, engine size, top speed....other interesting specs on the vehicle etc. Thanks.


USA George Bush) - I remember seeeing this on discovery channel but i cant recall the name. Some sort of "strech" vehicle....

Tony Blair - Ive seen him in Range rovers but im not sure if that's the official car

Program on discovery the other month about the USA ones showed them taking the standard car, ripping it apart then testing the modded car vs the standard one.

Armoured glass / bomb proof floor / air systems / run flat tyres / armoured doors.

I remember watching that - didnt it mentioned it to have some sort of compressed air thingy - whereby if the president is attacked via chemical or biological weapon he would be able to survive, due to the vehicle having his own air supply? Can you remember the name of the car that was featured?

Any idea on what Tony Blair's is? Thanks.
 
you do realise google monitors IP addresses and keyword searches. the american government is currently trying to get them to release this information to them on the basis of 'national security'

as for these cars, they try to look at every possible hijack and attack attempt then have a counter measure without sacrificing speed too much. the worst they can do is stay in one place so as well as being quite heavy (due to all the extras added/bolted on), they also have a beast of an engine under the bonnet

The 2006 Cadillac Presidential Limousine is a hand-crafted and armored version of the Cadillac DTS (DeVille Touring Sedan) stretch sedan for the President of the United States.

This is the most heavily armored presidential vehicle to date. The jet-black skin has 5 inches worth of ballistic armor, and is said to be able to withstand anti-tank grenade launchers. The underside of the car is also armored. The windows, which do not open, are transparent armor thick enough to block sunlight, which is the reason the interior is illuminated with fluorescent lighting. The vault like doors require automatic systems to open. Any casual observer can see the rolling fortress with the white rims on the tires, completing the armoring with a run-flat tire system. The limousine is also environmentally sealed against chemical and biological attacks.

as far as i know, our prime minister's car is a british make (jag i think) and isnt heavily armoured. ... we have fewer insane enemies than the US.

Does this mean if you leave the president in the car whilst you pick up some shopping, you should leave the window open a crack, in case he suffocates?

WOW :) didn't know that, surely any hijack/assasination attempt would go for the wheels? an anti-tank RPG to the wheels would surely cripple the car?

Jag? i thought precot drives the jag? The reason im saying so is because everytime you see him on the news he often comes out of a Range..

I think it is equipped to deal with that. Remember it also travels in convoy...
