My 172 is currently at Harretts having a couple of problems looked into and a service carried out. I've just got off the phone now and have been advised that the following need replacing:

Nearside Bottom Arm - £174
Offside Rear Wheel Bearing - £119

Are these reasonable prices or am I being taken for a ride?

Cheers

I doubt those prices are gonna change if you were to take it back another day so I would leave it for now, get them to show/explain why they need replacing and then check out the price for having it done at a specialist - if you still want the dealer to do it then take it back at a later date. Otherwise your dealers £200 is suddenly turning into £500, easy money if you can get it.....

If thats fitted then it seems to be a reasonable price. Im sure you would be able to source the parts yourself quite easily, but for less hassle it seems ok to me.

I knew that one of the wheel bearings was shot, I just didn't realise that it would be £120 to replace! As for the Bottom Arm, the other day a vibration and knocking noise started occuring whilst accelerating and it would seem that this is the culprit.

Ah right, nice one, you've put my mind at rest there then as I thought the prices may have been inflated somewhat. Cheers :)
