Price rise on the 6850 bad idea surely?

iv'e heard the palit model is loud, and has heating issues!

Yes, I wouldnt buy it either. But if a reference, or worse version of the GTX 460 is priced at £149, then surely you would expect the gigabyte / MSI / Asus to cost more?

I gladly paid an extra £10 for the MSI's when I bought mine.

The Gigabyte version for £151 is still a bargain at that price, I cant see why anyone would complain about it being 1 or 2 quid too much lol.

Paid £160 for me sapphire 6850 from ocuk, and got it installed and running yesterday. Overclocked to 840 core/1130 memory and fan set to 50% speed and from what I can see it runs really well, appears not far off or maybe equal to, my old 5850, a lot quieter and uses less juice.
Also regarding the shaders, this one has 960, and not the 1120 I read that some reviewers had got unfortunately but there you go.

Nvidia conspired some reviewers to use the EVGA GTX 460 1GB overclocked 850Mhz version and AMD tried with elevated shaders. Probably some reviewers never saw the higher shaders in the 6850. All messy.
