We use a router, which supports and offers both 2.4 and 5ghz Wifi and as Printer we are using HP Envy 5646 All-in-One.
I'd like to disable the 5ghz Wifi on our router as it causes some issues in our Wifi network and as far as I know the HP Envy 5646 supports only 2.4ghz, so it should be no problem at all if I disable the 5ghz in our router, right?
But the strange thing is that our iPhones and MacBooks can only connect to the printer if the 5ghz Wifi of the router is enabled and they are connected to the 5ghz Wifi.
As soon as I disable the 5ghz on the router, our devices cannot find the printer any more.
How is this possible?
I know it doesn't make any sense, but maybe some one knows more and can help us to understand what's going on here.
