Private Plate

hi
need some advice for a friend.
he currently has the plate B17 SHX which is supposed to stand for BASH X. Since hes stopped buying fancy cars he doesnt see the point of keeping on to it. Now hes asked me to help him get rid of it so what would be the best place to value the plate and also sell it?

It's worth £250, as thats how much said plate would be on the DVLA website. It's also B17 SHX.

How does B17 SHX look like BASH X....I thought my plate was bad.

Think he'll struggle to sell it TBH, probably worth more to him keeping it.

When illegally spaced? the only reason you think it looks like BASH X is that he's told you it should and if you have to explain it it's not worth having would be surprised if you can get anything over the £250 the DVLA would sell similar for.

The DVLA's £250 price for normal plates like this include the £80 reg fee. The actual cost of the plate (and what it would be on a site such as regtransfers) is around £170.

Might as well keep it...

I had an arguement with some idiot on another forum (Me? argue? On the internet?) who was trying to sell M5 XXX (Where XXX were 3 random letters) for £800. He wouldn't get the fact the DVLA have HUNDREDS of M5 XXX plates for like £250, instead deciding to pretend he just sold it at asking price.

I take it he is asian? if so, id guess assuming he could find another bloke called bash, he could prob get 750-1k for it, thats what my mate got offered for his, which was b4 shh.

Try the plate dealers in Autotrader, theres so many idiots out there that spend stupid money on stupid plates, its scary tbh

yeah he is. i was thinking that it must be worth more then £250 as someone had the plate B13 SHX and that was bought for around £1000 i was told. can anyone recommend someone who could value it?
