Problems setting timings - 4Gb Corsair XMS PC6400

I've picked up 4Gb of Corsair XMS2 PC6400. The timings on them are 4-4-4-12 2.1v. My system is detecting it as 5-5-5-18. When I try to manually change the settings the system doesn't like it and won't boot with my settings.

First time I've manually changed the settings, but I've read the stickied FAQ and tried to make these changes :

tCL 4
tRCD 4
tRP 4
tRAS 12

Do I need to change tRC or voltages or anything ? Do I have to change any of the Advanced memory settings (tRRD, tRC, tWR, tWTR, tREF, tRFC) ?

The Mb is an FP-IN9 SLI which I now knowing from these forums is a bit naff. Not sure if that could have anything to do with it.

Secondly, I now have 2Gb of 4-4-4-12 2.1v Geil RAM due to the above upgrade. Is it okay to stick that in with 2Gb of 5-5-5-15 1.8v Geil RAM in one system ? Both are PC2-6400.

Thansk for any help :)

Think I;ve managed to get it to work; only thought it might be voltage as I posted the above. Sure enough the voltage was defaulting to 1.85. Set it to 2.1v and it seems to have accepted the new timings.

n00b mistake :)

Do I need to change any of other settings listed above and I'd really appreciate the advice on whether I can use the two sets of 2Gb together which have different timings.

You can leave the others on Auto.

It will be fine to put the two geil kits in together, but whether they will run fine is something you'll have to test.

Due to the different SPDs and different voltages, I'd suggest you manually set the timings to 5,5,5,15 and about 1.9v or so.
