I just finished my new build, the problem is that it freezes or gives me a blue screen when i open games and sometimes while just doing nothing, when i get 2 sticks of ram in it's almost seconds after booting, if i only keep one in it can last for hours but eventually the result will be the same, tried switching slots but the result is the same, the blue screen error is clock watchdog timeout.

The thing is that it either gives me a blue screen or just freezes for good, never together.

I need to mention that i use the SSD that was in my older pc, which had an intel, this one is an AMD but i dont think this is as much of a problem.

I considered a bad PSU or Motherboard but i want to hear what you think.

SPECS:

600W Integrator PSU

Motherboard: B450MDS3H

Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2x4GB 3200

GPU: Radeon Saphire Nitro+ RX 570 8GB

CPU: Ryzen 5 2600X

Beginning to sound like dodgy RAM. Run MemTest and see what it comes back with
I did, nothing wrong.

Also, i just opened up my pc for the 4th time and noticed that the SATA cable connected to my SSD had "HDD" wrote on it, so i changed the cable, in the same time the GPU was not properly seated, i have been playing on it for about 20 minutes now and everything seems fine, i feel like a total moron right now, anyway id understand the freezes but i did not expect it to give me a blue screed that said that the CPU is being told to do more than it can, still have to test it for a few more hours but it seems to me that its kinda solved, im a newbie when it comes to PC building, this one was my 1st.

Have you connected the 8 pin EPS as well as the 24 pin ATX?
It could be:
  • not enough power to the CPU
  • Dodgy RAM
  • Dodgy PSU
If you take the GPU out and use the on-board graphics, does it do the same?

Also, the SSD/HDD thing doesn't matter. In both instances, they're powered and connected to the motherboard in the same way

Of course i did, i said im a newbie not mentally disabled.
Its my 1st build not the 1st time i open a PC
After i connected the GPU properly it froze once more, just installed a new windows, waiting for a game to download in order to force the system to its max, where it usually crashes.
The CPU dosent have on-board graphics.

Fresh windows install?

Correct ram slots?

Reseat the ram and check for damage.

Might also be worth trying a different hdd.

I was only asking lol

The CPU does have onboard graphics, you just connect the monitor to the onboard graphics instead. The board has DVI and HDMI.

The Aerocool Integrator series is built by the awful budget psu specialist HEC so most likely has the cheapest and nastiest internals they could find. This is to be expected for a 600w psu that could be had for as little as £40 brand new. I still can't understand why people skimp on the psu which is argueably the single most important component in a pc! It's cheap for a reason, it's rubbish. Buy cheap, buy twice!! The only Aerocool psu's worth a look are the very good Project 7 series.

As for a replacement, the Superflower Leadex III gold 550w is on offer for a very good price at the moment and is a far superior psu than the Integrator. It has a single 12v rail of 549.6w, is gold rated for efficiency, has fully modular cables, has high quality internals, a 7 year warranty and has around double the power that pc will ever draw.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £70.49 (includes shipping: £10.50)

Thank you @pastymuncher but can you recommend something stronger? I plan on upgrading in the future, now, im aware that newer hardware might eat less than my Saphire that eats up to 150W but i just want to have enough.

You have missed the cracking deals that were on the Corsair RM 750X and RM 850X as they went back to full price sometime yesterday. At the moment one of the best deals on here is the Seasonic Prime Ultra 650w Snow Silent. It's one of the very best 650w psu's that you can buy and with a discount of £72 is a steal. It's fully modular, platinum rated, has a single 12v rail of 648w and has a whopping 12 year warranty.

If you want more power then the Superflower Leadex III Gold 750w at just under £100 is a cracking psu (I have one of these). It's fully modular, Gold rated, has a single 12v rail of 748.8w and a 7 year warranty.
