I had problems with my boost wouldn't hold and always dropped off to under a bar so i decided to take the downpipe off and see if there was any problems inside. Had to pull the manifold slightly out to get the downpipe off as the oil filter housing was in the way , on investigation of the downpipe i had a crack and the wastegate flap was touching the dp. Got the downpipe grinded and welded put it back on making sure everything was tight.
Took the car out for a blast during the night and it was really quick and boost held perfectly , started the car next morning drove to the shops again the car was fine. Took the long way home from the shops and the road is incredibly bumpy , on stopping at traffic lights the car rpm dived and wanted to stall. Gave it a quick rev and the car was idling ok , decided to stop at my parents place on the way home . When i stopped the car , i tried to reverse the car into the slot and it stalled again.
Started the car up and the idle was very rough and i had to blip the accelerator to keep it from stalling!
When i got home , let it cool down and made sure the manifold and all pipes were tight and i took the idle control valve off and gave it a quick clean. The ohmeter results from the idle control valve said it was ok , the flap opened and closed fine so that was working.
Went on holiday for a few days , when i came back and started the car first time in a few days. The car idled at 1000rpm and the idle was rough , now before on a first start the car should idle at 2000 and drop as it gets warmer but it didn't. I got the temp to halfway and the rpm needle started to bounce from 900-1000-900rpm. Blipped the accelerator and the rpm dropped to 300 and it wanted to stall. The engine is very juddery , no smoke.. temp ok.. No error codes.
