Professional gambling employment status

Rob, I'm sure you are making some decent money doing what you're doing but when someone asked how much you earn, you gave a very specific answer of £250/ day, 7 days a week. By its nature, how can you earn such an exact specific amount on something with huge variance like gambling? Or are you just kind of averaging your last few months earnings? I play quite a bit of poker as some sort of side income, but whenever anyone asks me how much I make, I find it hard to answer because some months I'll be down because of bad variance and other months I'll be significantly up...I generally just tell them roughly how much I make from it per year...

I said about £250 a day. It does vary, no doubt about it. Like I said, I have had a £1000 bank wiped out one day. I tend to stop at £250 though. I probably could make a bit more, but why risk it when you have already secured £250?

if what your doing is trading, then why not do it at higher amounts?

it's not as if you need the £250 per day?

why not try it with say making £2.5K a day?

surely after a month of that, you could own a small flat outright and let it out for monthly income.

did you seriously just compare poker with gambling on betfair?

they are 2 completely different forms of gambling, in poker you are actually in control of the outcome for example, and i do actually play poker for cash on a fortnightly basis. ;)

Firstly... please find where I compare poker to "gambling on betfair". I merely responded to this quote:

your earning £250 a day from actual gambling?

personally i call BS.

Believe it or not, poker is in fact actual gambling.

Secondly, sports betting can be just as lucrative as playing poker. Why do you think betfair employ a premium charge for its biggest winners? If no one was a consistent winner there'd be no need.
