[Project Black hole] - CaseLabs TH10A

This is brilliant! I love the reservoirs they look great in the case. Are you going to be using the usual tubing for the loop or are you going to be adventuring into acrylic??

looking good anyway :D Subbed

Thanks!

Pretty sure I am going to use standard flexible tubing, I could be alone on this but I really am not a big fan of acrylic, I want to like it because it is the current in thing to be doing with watercooling but I just don't and it seems everyone is switching to it.
I would probably end up just bending it to get the nice sweeping curves of regular tube anyway.
I also don't know how big of a span you can do with acrylic before risking damage or leaks at the fittings, I need to get from the front to rear of the case diagonally to link up the rads, could be risky with say 30 inches of unsupported tube.

Maybe I will use it on a smaller LAN PC for some wow factor :p

No painting planned that I haven't already done.

These are my first tube reservoirs and the only XSPC one I have used is the D5 Dual Bay Reservoir/Pump Combo which is good but the way it mounts does cause some minor vibration with the case chassis.

I wanted glass and these were the only ones I could find.

Regarding the fans on the rads with filters. You really need to make sure the fans have got some decent pressure. You'll soon find out when you get testing.

Yeah I only bought the filters to try out, never used any before so thought I would give them a try.

Hope you can sort out the vibrations pal do you know what exactly is causing it?

The vibrations I was talking about are with the XSPC D5 bay res I have in another PC, nothing to do with this build.

Filter, Fan and Rad Mounting

I decided to mount the filters, the top ones are atcually mounted on the underside of the top cover rather than over the fans, so should be a little less restrictive but could cause the top fans to just draw in air from the sides where there is less resistance.
I will monitor that and may change them when up and running.

Starting to look like a build :D plenty of space for drain valves on the extra rad ports which will be nice!

Pleased with my hand made fan harnesses, perfect cable length to plug them in with minimal cable on show.

Also bought the PSU as I needed to get it in so I can get custom cables made up and ready before I get all my other hardware.
It was between this and the EVGA 1600 and the Corsair won mainly because of the lower dB output at load but I think in most reviews it just edges it on other points.

Thanks for the comments and look forward to seeing your build, it was me that recommended the case to you in that other thread ;)

Looking great JP. I mounted my filters internally no issues to be honest and looks much better than external.

Only issue I have with case labs is they get very dusty due to all the tiny gaps etc. could be a static flow issue for me though

Thanks, I hope if I use the filters that with enough positive pressure dust will be forced out of the case and only clean air will come in through the filters. Only time will tell!

looking great so far mate!

Cheers!

Nice build. Does anyone know how to set up aquero 6 pro to turn on pc via infra red?

Thank you!
If you want to do that you need to wire the relay, so buy a plug from here: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-126-AQ
Then wire pins 1 and 3 across your case power switch, the motherboard front panel header or both.

You can then have the Aquaero emergency shut down the PC also if you have Windows set to shut down when the power button is pressed.
Although you may be able to do that through the software also, not had a chance to test any of that out yet :)

This image should help:

Thanks, plan is 5960X, Asus X99-E WS and not sure on ram yet.

The motherboard isn't really available yet anyway and I am waiting for the new nvidia cards also plus I will need waterblocks for them. Not in a massive rush or anything though as I am away for four weeks at the end of the month.

I like Asus motherboards and until they give me any major issues I will keep using them.
To me the WS is their top end board, has all the features I want for running 3+ cards and an M.2 without running out of lanes, doesn't come with all the unnecessary extras that I don't need like OC Panel, Wifi, whatever other gimmicky bits the other boards have but still has all the useful software that they come with plus it isn't red and black or black and white!

The only thing is I think there could be some issues with the WS right now as it seems to be delayed, I guess Asus worked more on getting the more mainstream boards ready first which is fair enough.

Thanks man!

Should have some nice updates soon as I am going away for a month and hope to get my fittings and graphics cards while away and then mobo/cpu/ram when back to finish everything off.

Full Custom Corsair AX1500i Cables by James at Pexon PCs

Yes I am lazy but I wanted the best and done right!

Full cables, not extensions to my own specified lengths in Lutro0/E22 Blue, Purple and Dark Grey sleeve.

1x 24 Pin
2x 8 Pin
1x 6 PCI/E
6x 6+2 Pin PCI/E

Plus he also made me some Molex and SATA cables in black to my own specs for powering HDD, pumps and Aquaero without having to use the long stock ribbon style cables.

The Blue and Purple will be the colours I will try and match my coolant to in the GPU and CPU loops and I picked the Dark Grey to try and match some of the colours on the Asus X99-E WS board I plan to get.

Really happy with how they turned out, I didn't want the Blue and Purple to be too overpowering and bright.
I think once installed with everything else being dark and black expect for these cables and coolant it should look great!

I bought a nice selection of 7/16 Bitspower fittings, including mini valves for drain ports on both loops and a few 16mm acrylic links which I may use between graphics cards instead of a bridge block.
I am not going to unwrap them all yet as I have to travel home still and don't want to damage the paint.
So just a quick picture for now.

Absolutely love the attention to detail flushing the rads; like cycling a tank ;-)

Hah yeah, up until this year I had been keeping marine for almost 15 years!

Don't be, have a good un :)

Only a week left :(

Could be more delay with my build though as I would like the EVGA 980 Classified cards but there is no point in buying them until someone makes a waterblock to fit them.
If that doesn't happen then I don't know what I will do, left it so late now to just by reference cards.

The problem is I only have my 680s and a 290X so I need GPUs for this build!

What I hope is that the 980 Classified uses the same PCB as the 780 Classified so the EK block will fit and I can buy old stock or almost fit and EK can launch a new block in days not weeks.

Hah sorry Andy, kind of stuck on what to buy, I want 980s but want to wait for something better

As long as I am done before GTA 5 / Witcher 3 / Evolve releases then no problem :p

Just a small update for anyone wondering what I am doing.

I have decided I am going to wait for the next lot of graphics cards to be launched before I buy my hardware so no updates until then I'm afraid!

Blocks Arrive

EK blocks and some Advanced LRT 7/16 :D

Depending on my travels I should get hardware next week but I don't know just yet.

At least it feels like I am back on things again after such a long wait since deciding not to buy 980s.
