Projectors VS Tvs?

Ok im looking for a 720p projector.

Now Ive noticed this when looking at projectors.

Native SVGA (800x600) resolution with auto synchronization up to SXGA+(1400 x 1050)

What does this mean? I know about native res in lcds, but how does this work in projectors, and what is this auto synch, would give that give me true hd or not?

And whats the difference between dlp and lcd projectors? They look almost the same.

No, you need panels with a native resolution of what you actually want, they work in the same way as a normal direct view panel :) It just means it'll show a desktop of that higher resolution if you want to have a more usable space when using it as a pc display.

720p means you need 1280 by 720 native

Depends. If you can create blackout conditions, projectors are great.
If you can't, a TV will walk all over it.
 
You can't use a projector like a TV, they're not made for being switched on and off constantly and the bulbs are expensive to replace so it's not a case of plasma or projector unless all your viewing sessions are several hours at a time.
