Protesters are on Parliament roof

Isn't there a 1/2 mile noisy protest ban around parliament?

They could get rid of them if they wanted so it just seems the police sympathize.

What's the problem these particular people have? Is it the increase of traffic in the flight paths or pollution?

Strangely this is actually making me smile, from the sounds of it this is simply a peaceful protest. Although it does of course raise questions about the security of our elected leaders there is relatively little you can do against someone who is sufficiently motivated and has a knowledge of the procedures.

Apparently their daring raid involved a visitor pass and the fire escape, hardly rocket science was it? Quite how they got two enormous banners past security is open to question though.

That does present some funny mental images though.

Guard:"Sir why are you carrying a banner?"
Greenpeace Nut:"ummmm... always be prepared?"

I quite admire them for it. Shows how useless all those massive barriers, cameras and other pointless "security" devices are.

I agree with their cause too. If there is one thing London doesn't need, it is an extra 300 000 planes flying over it every year.

Security, what security, makes you laugh, nowhere is secure!

Good for them, we don’t need any more aircraft noise here, it is bad enough as it is.

I'd say the opposite actually :o

The more planes flying over the heads the better increasing heathrow means less disruption for other uk airports that I use :D

however i agree with the protestors how dare the goverment even think about taxing flights on top of what the already tax us flyers for nothing.

20 quid to fly each time!

ridiculous.
