Provisional licence

Ok heres the situation, I'm 17 and currently ride a 50cc scooter so obviously I have a provisional licence. I was wondering if I wanted to learn to drive do I have to apply for a new provisional or can I start straight away? are they basically the same or different? Cheers for any help I could find what I wanted to.

Yes you can start straight away, they are the same license.

I believe the Provisional Licence covers all vehicle category's. Check on the back of your Provisional to see if it has category B (car) and P (moped).

If you look at the back of your photo card it will tell you what class vechiles your entitled to drive

If you have got a class B catogory put on then yes, otherwise no you would have to send off your license to get it put on and no doubt pay the dlva some pennies aswell

Not all category's! mopeds,tricycles and cars normally. Other vehicles such as HGV's and coaches require special application with a medical.
