Downloaded the 30 day trial, as I only have version 1 on my laptop.
Have to say I am surprised, how much it seems to have in it..... Any need for Full Photoshop these days ?
I know the hard core users will say need the full package, but what is missing from Elements ? On my desk machine I have used PS CS, and there seems to all the same tools I have used included in PSE 7...
For the money looks a good deal, unlike full PS !!!!

I bought elements 7 about a month ago and I'm delighted with it - haven't used the full package but right now can't think what I'd be missing

Just worked up a couple of shots, to test my "normal" work flow....all good so far, new interface will take me a while.... looks nice though...
Anyone else with thoughts of PSE against PS ?

A good thread this, hopefully, if people use it to spell out the advantages, or lack of, of full blown photoshop over elements. I'll keep my eye on this thread.

Very few users will ever actually need Photoshop at all. The vast majority of edits that people want to do can be done in much simpler software.

Photoshop is obviously incredibly versatile but I think where the real advantage lies is in the integration into the Creative Suite as a whole - vector graphics from Illustrator, simple use with InDesign etc etc. All fantastic packages individually but more than the sum of their parts together.

Well place my order for a copy from OcUK.... The trial has done all I do previously in older versions of PS and more.... So taken the plunge, just need to try the RAW plug in for my 5D.

Comes as standard with RAW 4.5, 5.2 is free from the Adobe website - adds support for the 5D mkII so you will be OK.
