1stly modders if you would like to move this somewhere please do - but I didnt see anything similar as a seperate thread and thought it would be good to create one.
I have tried Motorstorm and like it a lot but wanted some modding action over the weekend so went out and got GT3 for £6, knowing that it was a gamble that it might look horrible on the PS3 and through an HDTV (32" Sammy R41BDX) and that due to compatability list Sony say that it will work but possibly not brilliantly.
I havent played it since it was out on the PS2 (and havent replaced my PS2 since it died a while ago after distinguished service) but remember enjoying both GT3 and GT4 and am waiting for GT4 to arrive from Jersey so thought it was worth the price.
Anyway I think it would be worth everyone compiling their experiences of PS2 games in real life - as the list produced by Sony isnt fully extensive and people might want to know.
GT3 for my money looks as I remember it, the cars look great (no where near the detail or reflections etc of todays standards but certainly enjoyable) no glitching so far in races, playbacks or licences and Im really hoping GT4 is the same.
Its easy to tell the age of the game, the backgrounds look okish but again thats the original detail not really a fault or anything (as far as I remember anyway)
Have no decent means of producing a photo or screenshot but will attemtp to see whether I can save stuff on the pseudo ps2 memory card on the ps3 hdd and see it on my pc network
Edit -( to keep it simple I have added here) - I have just started the rally licence and some of the fencing does seem to "blend" in with the mud much less distinctively than it did on original PS2 hardware, but while its frustrating (and I cant be sure this is even true due to how long ago I played it on PS2) its still highly enjoyable
Please let us all know your experiences of older games
