Right,
This whole Sony bashing thing is getting out of hand and it is quite amusing I think because the vast majority of them are from Xbox360 fanbois. Anyway, that said now to my contribution on everything that has been revealed today...
Ok, I do believe that Sony have well and truly lost this console war now... Letting Microsoft have two christmas' in a row is just unforgiveable. They have had a whole year to do something about the Xbox360 and it looks to me like they haven't taken the time to their advantage at all. You would have thought that because the console was coming more than a year later that it would be more polished, faster and better in general but there is no guarantee of even that...
Fair enough, they claim to have had issues with the Blueray player specification and now the Blue Ray diodes. They have also had to alter the specification of the console by removing many of the ports and conections. They have even had to downgrade the specification of the Nvidia RSX Processor (not sure if this was Sony's or Nvidia's fault) but for a company of Sony's size I just feel that they've wasted their time and everyone else's time.
The fact that the console is going to be released 15 months after the Xbox360 and is going to be £140 more expensive with similar performance games wise is silly really.
The reason why I like the PS3 is because it has got Gran Turismo, Formula One '06, Warhawk and Metal Gear Solid. I love these games to bits. Until now I have been holding off and saying to myself that I am going to wait until the PS3 is out before I decide which console I want to buy, but this recent announcement has made my decision very easy. I have decided that I will buy an Xbox360 this christmas and then maybe a Playstation 3 in the summer if I can afford it at the time. (I predict there may be problems with hardware and there will be teething problems as there nearly always are with new consoles but hopefully by this stage any teething problems will be ironed out).
One thing that I do not like about the Playstation 3 is the fact that it's controllers do not have dual shock. I mean that garbage about the vibration messing around with the sensors just sounds like the biggest load of pap. There have been controllers released in the past for the Playstation One that embrace this technology that have dual shock built in so it's not a case of "it's just not possible" but then again those controllers weren't bluetooth but they were wireless so who knows. I suspect it is because Sony didn't want to pay off Nintendo for breaching their vibration patents (which I think they should have done by the way. Leaving out a major feature such as this is just unbelievable really and it will be sorley missed!).
In conclusion, Sony has lost it's crown and it has no-one to blame but itself. It's a shame really that it has let so many people down including myself but this delay is really just not surpising really after there were reports that it hadn't even started manufacturing the console yet. Sony's problem I believe is that they are just trying to do too much with their latest console, I mean the Xbox360 is a games console whereas the Playstation 3 is an entertainment system - go figure. God I could write so much more but I'll save your eyes
Whappers.
