Just picked up my new samsung plasma tv so i can connect my PS3 via hdmi. Wow it looks so much better, but i need to know if anyone here can answer this for me....
I use to have my surround sound system connected to the ps3 via optic cable to get 5.1, but to listen to 'stereo' thru the system from the tv i had a set of phone leads from the tv. But it meant i had to keep changing the source on the 5.1 system if i was watching a film off the tv and then back again if i was watching a dvd thu the ps3.
My new tv has an optics output, which i can connect to the 5.1 system and send the audio from the ps3 up the hdmi cable to the tv which means i only have one input to the 5.1 amp. BUT if i do this will i get 5.1 from the ps3 as its now going to the tv via hdmi and then out of the tv to the amp?
regards
Andy
