Hi there, please can you help, the title says it all really and I googled this and found a few forums on this issue but nobody really had an answer.

And I think I read that you cant roll back to old firmware yourself and that you have to send it to Sony to do? WTF! For starters, why cant we roll back ourselves? and 2nd of all send it back to Sony? how much is that gona cost me! Jesus!

I dont even know why I updated the firmware, a message just poped up saying there's new firmware available so I installed it! I dont even play online!! Do you even need the latest firmware? What does it do? Is there any point what so ever?

OMG!!?!?!?!

I had a perfect setup where my PS3 outputting to my projector! Now nothing! Just a black screen! and thousands of other people have got the exact same problem!

Nightmare!

I dont know if anyone can help me or knows what I should do but I am kind of asking for help here but at the same time I'm angry lol.

Oh incase someone asks yeah my projector still works, my PS3 is an 80gig version I got like a year ago, a normal one not a slim, the PS3 and projector still work fine with xbox and PS3 and the xbox still outputs HDMI with every other device I plug in, just not the PS3 and I only updated the PS3 the other day and next thing I know the HDMI doesnt work.

I tried the reset thing where you hold the button down it did nothing.

Thanks in advance.

You should unplug the HDMI reset the console and connect the PS3 via either traditional composite/s-video or component. Once you actually get an image on the projector try to redo the HDMI setup.

I had a similar problem earlier in the year with my monitor but could never get it going again but i think the problem was with it being HDMI-DVI and HDCP related.

Is your connection on your projector HDMI-DVI or HDMI-HDMI? Your other option Id say if you PJ doesnt have component is to try a PS3 Component - VGA cables.

Id be really surprised if your connecting via HDMI-HDMI and this isnt working.

It's HDMI to DVI and yeah it works the other way with the normal wire I have so I can still output to projector but the normal way has a lower resolution and doesnt look as good but normally when I output with HDMI to DVI it looks 10x better and its amazing.
