pseudo brief

It means that your pants aren't real......

EDIT: I have just been told by my PA that it means a quickly put together document outlining whatever the subject matter is.

Personally I think it is nonsense-speak.

No doubt its to cover him so you cant laugh at what he produces as its nothing to what you expected or of a standard you would want...

ps3ud0

It is basically a "rough" brief with a tentative overview of the matter its a nonsense term really but used to distinguish from a more factual brief. Basically when someone can't really be arsed to do a proper job or is being asked to do something they consider unreasonable but don't want to say that upfront.

Was in a bog standrad meeting discussing a website requirements. The marketing guy ended the meetings by saying he'll get back to us with a pseudo brief in preparation for the next meeting.

Sounds like idiot-speak for a first draft of a proper briefing document. Or a briefing document drawn up by someone who has no idea how to produce one.

I work with many of these... :(

I asked the guys I work with if they'd ever heard of it. Apart from the opinions that I can't post due to excessive swearing, the best response was, "If someone said that in my meeting, I'd ask them to leave." I couldn't but help agree.

So "pseuo brief" means "some crap I just thought of but can't be bothered to expand upon to provide anything worthwhile"?

Management buzzwords/speak is appalling enough in a professional workplace but to actually suggest that your brief is going to be "pseudo" in nature (i.e. crap) is tantamount to saying that you're no good at your job and have little regard for the people you're sending your crap to.
