hi guys
ive been recommend this psu to go a ryzen 5 1600 3,6ghz EVGA 500W 80 Plus Power Supply (100-W1-0500-KR) but what i was wandering what is difference between this and say a modular one ?

can anyone recommend a modular similar to this at a little extra price

The CX-M are semi-modular, meaning a couple of the cables are already hard-attached and the rest you attach as needed. They are bronze efficiency (better than just "80+") and have a 5 year warranty compared to that EVGA model's 3 years.

The TXM has gold efficiency and a 7 year warranty.

450W is more than adequate for your current setup, and for the future if you stick to low-power requirement video cards like the GTX 1060. If you think you might add a more power-hungry card at some point then a 550W would be best.

If you can afford the TX550M, then perhaps you can afford an even better, fully modular PSU with a 10 year warranty, for a few more pounds:

If your budget won't cover that much, I'd actually consider not bothering with a modular PSU, as there are non-modular PSUs of better quality than the Corsair CX-M that aren't too expensive:
