On the wagon, sorta
baught a psu the other day for my new build and cost me £38 from the shop new wich i thaught was quite cheap for a 600watt.
just been looking over an american site and low and behold i see my power supply marked up at $169 wich i thaught was a little strainge then i see a
coolermaster igreen 600watt marked up at $129 on the same shop wich made me start thinking.
i didnt think my psu for what i paid for it would cost more than a coolermaster any were you went or is there a chance the bloke has sold me it by mistake for the wrong price.
i dont know a lot on psu's so having not heard of them before didnt surprise me atall.
the psu is a works power reactor 600watt
is it another generic marked up to high or is it a half dcent psu i did notice it was in the wrong box it was in a hi point psu box

For £38 that is a good price, considering it would usually be around £55 to £80. You should be happy with that luck!
Looked at a couple of reviews on Google and it seemed alright, definately would hold onto it. Wouldn't mind getting a deal like that myself, I'm currently PSU-less... :(

good luck with your hunt ifd your near the north east i can point you in the right direction lol!

thats the better part for some reason the model i have seems to be labled with 3x 12v rails :) 2x18a and a third at 16a

from what i understand its worked out as 18+18+16=48a combined because it has the triple rail
someone correct me if im wrong just what i have picked form from other people

It's a bit hard to tell if the company don't explicitly tell you. It should definitely have more than enough combined amps however.

Oh by the way, now that my interest is piqued, could you tell me what the number is below the symbol that looks like a backwards U and R (right at the bottom left of that first pic). It'll let us trace who the real manufacturer of the supply is.

yep defo its E144195
hehe im waiting patiently lol
"edit"
just doug this up meself

"The UL number is E144195, which means this model was built by Sirtec International Co Ltd. Sirtec makes several of the Thermaltake PurePower series of power supplys"
anything else you could find would be nice

Well the number points to Sirtec as the oem builder.

They have the following self-branded unit: http://www.sirtec.com/HPC-620-A88S.php which is pretty much identical, although the 3 12v rails are rated differently. It's like they took that model and scaled things back a little in your one. Anyway, you're looking at around 41-42A combined on the 12v rails which is more than enough*.

* - As to quality, well, Sirtec also builds for Lian Li and has in the past built for Thermaltake. This is the most recent review I could find of a sirtec unit: http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTMzOSw4LCxoZW50aHVzaWFzdA==

and umm, it does ok but it actually fails whenever you take it above about 80% of it's maximum rating. Assuming the same held true for your own supply, you would never want to load it above about 33A, which you're in no danger of doing currently!

For the price I'd say rough diamond :)

Thanks mate much appreaciated nice to have a bit background on some stuff that you dont usually find it on.
and it turns out a bargain to so double whammy
