The ultimate question...

I've got a pair of Adidas World Cups for soft ground and they have lasted a season and still look brand new. Outstanding boots.

Now, I normally buy a brand new pair every season and as these have lasted a whole season I'm going to buy a pair of moulded boots so I have the choice on match days and also save my ankles / feet.

The question is, I can get a pair of Puma Kings moulded boots for £50 (reduced from £60). Puma Kings have lasted the test of time and are still popular amongst no-nonsense pro's.

Or, do I get the same as my soft ground boots and splash out an extra £9 for Copa Mundials? They've been around for 25 years+.

I'm not interested in anything else as I'm a 'keeper so I want, tough but soft hard wearing boots. None of this poncy Predator, Tunit or Nike slippers please.

Are you talking about the Puma King Execs ?? As in the one's I wear and posted in the footy boots thread? If so I wouldn't recommend them for a keeper. They are very light and agile - perfect for me playing as an attacking midfielder however I wouldn't think they'd be suited for a keeper...

Copa Mundials - well what can you say, they are awesome boots!

If I were you I'd look at the other Puma's (V-Konstrukt II or something?) and a lot of keepers I know use Adidas Predators and love em for that role!

A few mates have had preds before but the sole came away from the boot mid way through the season!

Why do keepers need to put curl and swerve on a ball?

Jose Luis Chilavert would answer that one!

lol it's not about putting spin on the ball it's just that its a good solid all round boot and keepers like it i guess!!

Anyway I don't think the new Puma King's would suit a keeper so It'll be the copa Mundials then! Unless you fancy some of the other puma boots which are quite good also!

Predators help create backspin on the ball, which i believe gives lift. So in theory, longer kicks i guess.

Copa's are the best boots ever made! You'll see a lot of pro are now adapting their's by adding screw in thread and putting studs in as well.

I couldn't get king's as they are too narrow for my feet so can't rate them personally.
