Purchased a new bike - in need of lights

well I’ve owned my bike for 6 weeks. Decided to do this to get some cardio and to ride to work (25-30mins) to save on petrol.


I’m in need of some decent lights. Some roads do not have lights to it’s pitch black.

Looked at Halfords they range from £30-80

And eventually a new Saddle too as the one supplied is quite hard

If it's unlit, then you want something that lights the road up, versus something that just lets you be seen.

I have these to commute along an unlit promenade and I'm very happy with them:-

As for saddles, that's really a personal preference. However, don't assume that a bigger, softer saddle will be more comfortable than the one you have now. I reckon you just need to give it a few weeks to 'acclimatise' to your current saddle. I found padded undershorts helped when I commuted - I commute in normal clothes, i.e. jeans/combats/trousers etc, not this lycra nonsense.
