putting a mixer in a spirit

Obviously, drinks are designed to be pleasant to taste and you want to enjoy the nuances that each brand offers. Putting a mixer in will take a lot of the individual tastes, scents and experiences away... But if you really don't like it neat (or it's not appropriate) then go ahead and mix it.
But please don't waste fine spirits by putting mixer in. Learn to enjoy them straight (or with a dash of water) or don't drink 'em!

Wrong, JD should not even be served with ice.

Wrong, JD should not even be served.

If you like what you put in the drink, then that's all that matters, your taste buds are different to everyone elses.

Do whatever you like, I'd rather someone put something in their whisky and enjoyed it than drink it neat screwing their face up.

You won't get your hands on any of my malts though :)

Don't tell me you class JD as a decent spirit?

I like it, although I much prefer Gentleman Jack or Jack Daniels single barrel or Single barrel silver select.

The reason I said it should not be served with ice is because it is a sipping whiskey, so if you put ice in by the time you have drank it it has melted and watered it down.

Cheap blended whisky absolutley requires cola or something mixed in it to make it remotely drinkable........single malts however......DON'T EVEN BLOOMING THINK ABOUT IT!!!!!!!:D

Drink it how you like it, I certainly don't care if someone frowns upon me mixing my spirits if it makes it drinkable.
Enjoy :D
