check on fan spliter

I asked a question not long back about the akasa pwm fans and wanted to check if any1 has used these splitters ?. After trolling google for a wile on different names i found these and it actully said overclockers used to stock them but not anymore so i came here to ask was there any problem with them ? will they be ok for the akasa pwm fans ?.

Just wanted to check if there was any problems or any expericance with them before i bruaght them off somewhere els ?. I need them so i can connect up 3 ofthe akasa fans and make sure there ok.

been looking for those cables lol do you just have to plug one end into the cpu fan header and connect the other fan heads to the fans themselves? what about the molex connecter?

Well, with the Akasa AK-CB002 you just plug one into the motherboard, plug one into a molex and then you can connect up to 3 fans. About as simple as you can get.

well i want my 1 to conenct into the fan controller so i wont need the molex power supply on it. also if you get that splitter wil i mean you wont have controll on fan speed ?? as its connected into tthe power supply so no controller over its speed ?. im actully thinking of buying a few of the 1 i linked as i may get more pwm fans to put in other parts of my case so didnt wantthem all connecting into the MB and slighty worrid cables wont be long enough to for my fans that are in the top of my case to come down and connect to a connector in the MB.

main reason for this post is will they be ok with the akasa fans and also a website stated OC used to stock these but they dont now so was asking ws there known problems with them or are they ok ?.

ok thats how it works now i knowhwat 1 to pick :D. so the 1 that is in the MB later that will give you controlsl on rpm of the 3 fans ?.

just about to use these myself with my bigNG (so i just use one channel to cool my radiator). Should be easy as pie love about this cable is that it doesnt reduced the power to the fans when splitting them even if i have to use a extra molex connector im happy :D (was wondering how i was gonna connect them up before i find this item on overclockers :P).

Btw level yes the 3 pin connect is used to plug into ur mb (or fan controller to control there speed).

i have just got to apache fans for my megahalems cooler so i only have one pwm socket on my board being the cpu fan header, so i just have to connect the molex to my psu and the the motherboard connecter to my pwm cpu header then 2 of the 3 fans heads to my cpu fans? was thinking of a fan controller like leivathan but now you shown us this cable im sorted i think! even tho i do love the look of a good fan controller any recs on a snazy looking one?

Need someone to really confirm if i can do that ? as ifi ts a fan controlelr then that is then pluged to the fan controller wont that casue it problems ? as the fan controlelr already has power with a molex then more power with the cable in the back of the pc like a usb port ?. wont a futher molex cause problems or over kill ???.

Well it will be fine as connecting this to ur mb or ur fan controller is the same thing (as they both adjust the speed of ur fans/measure the rpm). So i can pretty much gurantee that it will be fine. As what would be the point in having them connected to the mb otherwise (apart from just measuring the rpm).

Using one with a fan controller makes minimal sense. Connect to the motherboard cpu fan header and the psu molex line, and then plug fans into it. Happy days.

I believe 3 pin fans will run at 12V all the time, and that it is possible to chain these. However I'm yet to have anyone report that chaining them actually works, and I have no 4 pin fans

it actually makes a lot of sense as it means u can have unlimited amount of fans connected to ur controller. Also the onboard speed adjustment on motherboards are rubbish compared to a decent fan controller.
