Ok, my overclocking saga continues.
I've had my Q6600 G0 for 2 years now running rock solid at 3.0ghz 333x9
RAM has been running at 1333 but recently I had a happy accident and i had to claim the lifetime warranty on the RAM which landed a brand spanking new OCZ 1600 MHz
I will start with the problems:
Since I installed the new RAM the mobo refuses to do fsb 400. I can do anything above or below but not exactly 400.
Since the new RAM i cannot select any other strap apart from 200. 266,333 and 400 always fail to post unless i keep the fsb near stock.
So then, i am currently testing 3.6ghz in p95 using 395x9 with RAM at 1580Mhz.
The temps I am hitting are 80c using a TRUE and a single fan in my PC-7FN.
There is no top fan and i have installed a fan in the bays pretty much like in the other system. So here is the extreme part, vcore is 1.5370. PLL is 1.6v and FSB termination is the max 1.5v
LLC is disabled.
Has been 2 hours p95 stable so far never going over 80c. Any suggestions? I heard that the absolute max PLL i should use is 1.6v and any more will result in dead cores very fast. Do you think it has hopes for 4GHz on air?
