On topic I know the i7 2600k at stock seemed to render 1080 HD video in Sony Vegas 10 over twice as fast as a Q6000 at about 3Ghz, both systems had 8GB ram too (DDR2 1066 vs DDR3 1866). So it would be a worthy upgrade IMO, although obviously the new Ivy version would be my choice.
Off topic... £700 for a Q6600 system? Damn I wish I was that deceptive to sell my old stuff for twice it's actual worth to unknowing buyers. I guess you could wrap any old components up in a shiny new case and the clueless wouldn't know the difference either way if it browses the net and plays video... About as much as the average user will ever do.

U really think I'm a rip off? Because I pride myself in being good value and one of ceredigions top pc repaiir and installation people but apparently making a profit is evil
