Q6600 to i7 2600k 3.4 worth it?

On topic I know the i7 2600k at stock seemed to render 1080 HD video in Sony Vegas 10 over twice as fast as a Q6000 at about 3Ghz, both systems had 8GB ram too (DDR2 1066 vs DDR3 1866). So it would be a worthy upgrade IMO, although obviously the new Ivy version would be my choice.

Off topic... £700 for a Q6600 system? Damn I wish I was that deceptive to sell my old stuff for twice it's actual worth to unknowing buyers. I guess you could wrap any old components up in a shiny new case and the clueless wouldn't know the difference either way if it browses the net and plays video... About as much as the average user will ever do.

It does have 2 SSD's (240gb??) and a 3tb HDD

So like £536-580 of kit plus labour for £700 (maybe including delivery/installation too I don't know) sounds like a good deal to me.
