Hi Guys,

Just about to get upgrades including a Q6600 :D

I'm not about to go mad on overclocking the first time with a quad core, but to push it up to 3.0Ghz comfortably, i assume the default multiplier is 9, which would be a FSB of 333 to pull me out at 3Ghz.

Question is, without stepping up in small increments, has anyone had any experience at 3Ghz stable, and if so, what are relevant vCore and memory settings to start with?

Hopefully, this will let me skip a few hours of pushing up the FSB and vcores :)

Any advice on this combo would be great :)

The spec is:

Abit IP35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz (1066FSB)

OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series DDR2 (OCZ2P800R22GK)

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775)
Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound (3.5g)

Probably do 3.0GHz on Auto volts, just push the FSB to 333 and give it a whirl. If it doesn't work, go to manual volts and bump a level. rinse and repeat.
