QNAP 209 II Pro Transfer Speeds

My transfer speeds between the QNAP and my PC are between 10 - 12 MB/sec but I've seen other posts with higher speeds. I borrowed a netgear switch from work and have my nic and QNAP set up as gigabit but the speeds are still the same. Is my hard drive the bottleneck? I have a Samsung 1 TB in my PC and 2 x Samsung 1 TB HDDs in my QNAP set up as RAID 1.

Could try a Cat 6 cable and see if it makes any difference on the gigabit switch?

One thing I've noticed on my QNAP TS-109 Pro is it gets faster transfer speeds over FTP, rather than copying/pasting through Windows etc.

I already use cat 6 cable but I usually just copy and paste so I'll give FTP a try and see what the results are.
