Guys,

I know this is a stab in the dark but I'm looking for a Honda trx 250r (or similar) for ~£2k. They're like hens teeth at the moment, but you never know someone on here might know of one...?

Cheers

I don't personaly, but why not go for something bigger like a Raptor 660? A friend of mine has one and he regularly lets me take it out for a ride and they are great fun. I can't help but think a 250 would be a little underpowered and get boring.

OK,

The 250r is a two stroke, so you can roughly equate it to a 450 4 stroke. Secondly, the 250r is regarded by many as the sweetest handling bike ever made, it was produced from '86-'89 and it has taken until the YZF-450 and perhaps the new ltr-450 for a mass produced bike to handle as nicely - infact a lot of the geo of the yzf-450 is taken straight from the 250r I'm told. There are loads of them still racing, obviously very little on them is original on most of them and for £2k you can get one with a lot of kit (racing shocks, wide a-arms, wide axles, engine work, etc). Oh, and they are real light compared to something like a raptor...

A well tuned 250r would destroy a raptor around a track!

For dirtbikes and quads, 2t > 4t
