I used to crank a set of Z5500's at a computer shop I worked at. The Aego's aren't too far behind which is awesome considering the speakers are a lot smaller and they're only 2.1
If you want loud and deep bass that kind of overpowers the mid and treble, go with the Z2300's. If you want loud and deep bass that sounds just right, go with the Aego's. (Once again, this is just my opinion)
Also, if you go with the Aego's, be sure to allow them some burn in time. I was unimpressed when I first hooked them up but after about 30 minutes, they sounded like completely different speakers.\
Having a decent soundcard also can make quite a difference. My fiancee and I have a set of Aego's each and both of us can really hear the difference between her onboard sound (Abit IP35Pro board) and my Xfi.
