Question about Royal mail postage

are 1st class recorded (Signed for) deliveries delivered on Saturday, or is it only Unsigned mail?

Depends on the size of the package. Many smaller items are delivered by letter post.

Recorded, Special Delivery and all normal mail get delivered on Saturday. It's just another day in paradise for us.

Well "Special Delivery" is only delivered on a Saturday if you pay the £2 extra.
If you send SD on a Friday it will be delivered on Monday - unless you pay for the "Guaranteed Saturday Delivery" option.

Not true.

Special delivery can be delivered on a saturday, but it isn't guaranteed hence the guaranteed option.

I have never had a special delivery item sent friday not arrive on the saturday, except for a parcel I sent to my sister at uni which is 300 miles away.
