Question for FPS gamers and their keyboards

1) On average, how many hours per week do you play FPS games?

2) What keyboard do you have and how long have you had it?

3) How would you say the tactile response of your WASD keys are compared to when you first got your keyboard?

1) 10-15 hours

2) This one right http://www.jmsinfo.com/images/Logitech_UltraX_Premium_Keyboard_-_silver.jpg

Had it just over a year

3) Dont know i use arrow keys :) They feel fine.

OP we have the same keyboard.

I play up to 30 hours a week, its about 6 months old

The wasd still feels fine, maybe you have dirt under the keys? I'm wondering because I sometimes get food crumbs under the keys and then they dont press down, its really bad having food around this keyboard.

Could be anywhere from 2-20. Into ME2 atm since its smoother than playing BC2.

Some packard bell wireless keyboard i got with the pc.

A button broke a while back, stays pressed down so only a light touch will trigger it. Otherwise everything feels the same really.

About 10 hours

Microsoft cheapo basic wired keyboard. Had it about a year

It still feels good, but I buy cheaper keyboards because I usually replace them after a year or two when they start to get really grimy. This one still has a lot of time left in it though. I used to buy the cheap logitechs, and they wear out pretty quickly.

Hmmm, so does anyone know why my WASD key have lost their original tactile response? The keys on this keyboard are fairly flat, more like laptop keys, could this be the problem?

You rage more than other gamers and wear through your keyboards quicker. I think you just need to get better at gaming is the obvious answer

Dunno how much I play now but been playing fps and other games for about 17 years 10 of them pretty hardcore always used WASD!

Logitech g15 - about 2 years old!

All keys are perfect On every keyboard I've owned only reason I upgrade was just because I wanted something new or was bored!

As embarrasing as it sounds there may be some truth to that. Maybe it's just me but sometimes when I'm in a panic situation or a tight spot I tend to press the WASD keys harder to move faster. :o

Well I've just got myself a Microsoft Sidewinder X4, hopefully it won't share the same fate.

25 hours +

Saitek Eclipse II (love it, brilliant backlights etc. will probably get exact same replacement)

Had it 2 years or so, starting to need replacement.

ATM 0 (Coursework +PS3) Usaly 8-10

Razer Lycosa, 2-3 years

Works great although the media touch pad is horrible

I've got a 4 year old Saitek Eclipse II, and I don't use WASD, I use the arrow keys. They're just as responsive as when I first got it, but they do creak a bit under pressure.

There's a nice worn patch in the silver paint trim where my left thumb rests though!

1. 25 hours a week

2. saitek eclipse

3. got it second hand 3 years ago and still feels like new even thought the left side is highly polished due to hand rub lol
