Hi lads,

I'm looking for a pair of decent headphone to use for general computer use at night when the folks go to bed. I got my eyes set on the surround sound 5.1 range headphones that ocuk sells, which are said to be great for gaming and music. My concern is this: I actually have a 5.1 speaker setup, with of course, a 5.1 soundcard. If I do purchase 1 of these headphones, especially the zelman one does this mean I have to unplug my speaker everytime I use the headphone? If that's the case then it would be such a hassle or is there an alternative? (for example, an external plug like a switch which allow you to switch between speaker/headphones?)

Excuse for my lack of knowledge, I havent really come across/used any 5.1 headphones before :D

If its a Soundblaster card there should be a little button somewhere in amongst the soundcard settings that allows you to turn speakers off automatically when you plug your headphones in.

But do I plug the headphone to the soundcard or to the actual 5.1 speaker? I have Creative Soundblaster Audigy ZS 5.1 and Creative..er 5.1 speakers :p

Same situation here for a while im afraid,

you will have to swap them out since it connects with 3 (4 inc microphone) plugs like speakers do.

i was unable to find a 5.1 audio switcher style device either :( and the components to make one i wasnt able to find either (unless i used cheap parts but obviously theres no compromise with sound)
