Hi All,

I just bought a new 6800 PCI Express with 256 Mb and I wonder if is possible to unlock any pipes on it like I did with my AGP version ;) ?

One thing worries me is if I will have any problem using my Tt 480w PSU with is not ATX 2.0 :o compatible and does not have any PciE connectors (does the card get all the power from the mobo or need a special molex from the psu????)

thanks in advance,

L

You should have an adapter that has 2 x molex on 1 end which leads to a PCI Express power connector, should have come with the card. just connect the molex's up to the psu and the pci e connector to ** card

It is new but taking for a system so without anything extra.

I thought the plain 6800 PciE did not need any extra power.... :o

thanks for the anwser,

L

The 6800 pcie 256mb doesnt need a pci-e power connector like you say - I've just had the chance to test one that I got hold of today, it overclocked from its stock speed of 325/600mhz to 450/800mhz :D it performed pretty well too.

It's not possible to unlock any pipes because it uses the NV42 core which was designed with only 12 pipes, but to compensate, it's 110nm instead of 130nm so it overclocks better and runs cooler.
