Quick Dawn of War II question.....

I saw DoW2 and The new Chaos Rising version on offer on Steam and went for it but a mate of mine is thinking of just getting the Chaos Rising version as its available from the tree people at about £9! (makes the £20 I just paid for both look not such a great deal!)

My question is, will we still be able to play on the multiplayer together or will his version lack something that I have?

According to the version you can buy online, Chaos Rising doesnt need the original DoW2 to run!?!?!?

So judging by the responses, the only thing that my mate will be lacking is the single player game from the original!?!?
