can direct debits be taken out on a saturday/sunday?

It does happen where DD will come out on a Sunday (norm after noon) - its quite dependant but very possible.

yep they can, just checked my bank and I've had plenty come out over the weekend

To be honest i dont notice it as much on a Saturday when at work - but its more obvious on sundays when people phone in moaning they got not cash because its come out early - but if it comes out on a Sunday its likely a Saturday is quite possible too (not 100% though matey).
