quick insurance/tax question

Need an answer sharp before me and my mum leave

Sister has just brought a VW Polo. We are about to go have it MOT'd and hopefully bring it home.

It has no tax though. Not a MAJOR issue, but my mum is concerned that with no TAX her insurance will be invalid so she will be driving without tax AND insurance! Can anyone shead any light?!

AFAIK driving without tax wont affect your insurance, I could be wrong though.

iirc you're allowed to drive to and from a booked MOT without tax, as you can't get tax until you have the MOT
