Quick plumbing question - bath filler fittings

Hello,

Just a quick one. Fitting a new bath including a combination overflow/filler:

Those two 90° fittings for the hot and cold, when at that angle, are not completely tight, they would both be pointing a bit more skywards if they were nipped up tight. As they are they have a little play in them.

Is that ok? The 90° connectors have double o-rings on them, so I feel like they’re designed this way. It’s not easy to get to where we’re fitting this though so if anyone wants to warn me... please do

Not ofay with that fitting, but a double oring set up will certainly seal the joint, just like on a swivel joint.

Well... it seems to work! Really unsettling though to be honest, they’re about 1/2 and 1/3 of a turn from fully tight respectively so there’s noticeable play on both. But two baths so far and I can’t see any leaks at all.

Nip them up and use longer flexi hoses if you are worried. You have no isolation valves on the feeds either?

Nipping them up would point them at the bath!

They seem fine though, I think it’s designed that way, it’s just quite unsettling.

Isolation valves are round the corner a bit by the taps. Taps are on the side and the filler’s at the end.

They will be fine. My boiler has parts that slot in, with o-rings, and then just pins to stop them pushing out, when under pressure.
