Pretty sure I know the answer is 'absolutely fine' but - is it OK to put my 400D through a hand luggage airport x-ray scanner? Any chance of wiping pics from the flash cards too?
Dont take it just from me, but when i travelled from UK to Hong Kong, to Australia (stop off), then two New Zealand (2 airports in NZ) i had my D40, and a Film SLR, with lenses and various film, in my hand luggage, and was never a problem. Dont take my word for it though.
I think they normally say anything slower than ISO3200 film should be okay... If your film is ISO100 or 200, I would say it's nowhere near enough radiation to make a difference.
There was a thing in one of the photography mags not so long ago about this - film and memory should be fine, through x-ray scanners, they said not to put film in lead-lined cannisters or boxes, as that would cause the operator to jack the power right up, which would cause damage.
