Quick question: Can I insure myself on a test ride from a dealer with no insurance?

I think I've found a bike I want to buy, it's from a trader who runs a small shop out in Surrey. He doesn't have any insurance to allow test rides, so I couldn't get a ride out on what I'm looking at today.

However, am I right in thinking that if I go via dayinsure.com (or similar), that will cover me to test ride the bike? Would the dealer have any valid objections to this?
