Quick question - tax bands

When you buy your tax, where do they get the emissions data for your car? Is it available online?

I've looked on a couple of places for a Vauxhall astra envoy dti 2003 5dr 1686cc. Parker's thinks it's 126g/km (band D), whereas the VCA say it's 118g/km (band C).

Just wondering if I can find out beforehand? Thanks.

Do you have your logbook/V5c to hand? Should say in that

The logbook was sent off today and didn't think to look in there first!

According to that link it's 124g/km. Damn! Pesky 4 grams costing me £85!
