quick question...

quick question for you lot...

if someone owns a house and has a mortgage on it, and they live elsewhere and claim housing benefit without the benefit people knowing about the mortgaged house, is that illegal and classed as benefit fraud?

thanks :)
Yes it is a criminal offence, and bang out of order to boot.

do you think its fair to let him know before i do it?
Ask yourself if it's fair that he's stealing, and then really ask yourself if you care whether it's fair on him or not? :)

Call them and tell them what you know. Don't worry about how he's feeling.

Everyone should grass up any one they know who is pulling benefit frauds, I'm not say go out lookin for them but if you know them it is your duty as a tax payer why should they get a free ride at my expense?

This all you ever do in your life, peak out windows and snitch on other peoples lives, when you should concentrate on your own. Sad.

*lots of Roll Eyes*

So where do you draw the line then?
Do you let everyone just get on with "their lives" because it is none of your business?

Car tax dodger
Benefit cheat
Software pirate/thief
Drink Driver
Vandalism
Car theft
Burgler
Somebody getting beaten up in the street
Rapist
Child abuser

Do you hide behind your curtain and let all of the above just get on with their own lives?
Last time I checked all of the above were illegal and as I pay all my taxes, don't claim anything I shouldn't and don't participate in crime I wouldn't think twice about reporting ANY of the above - I'd just do it.

Sounds petty to me. Seriously, whats the point? I don't agree with what he doing in the slightest but it just sounds like you have nothing better to do with your life.

If he is the kind of looser you make out then why was he in your car in the first place?

i cart him to college some days

i wouldnt say its petty, he gets given £600 a month hes not entitled to and acts like a 5 year old

2k a month in tax?

They must earn about £80,000 a year!

So if they earn that much why do you live next to someone who earns 600 in benifits?

i dont live next to him, i met him at college and we were friends, but over the past few months ive come to realise that he's not entitled to the money he's getting, and things he does annoy me more and more

thing is he's at college at the moment and hoping to go to university, if he loses his bsnefits he will have to leave college and get a full time job

heck i dont want him to go to the same uni as me (although he seems to want to) but i dont want to mess up his chances of a decent education, i may be seen as a bit of a **** by grassing him up but i dont want to mess up his future or anything
