Hi,

Currently got Thermaltake Thunderblade LED fans in my case, 2 x 12 cm (rear exhaust + front intake) and 1 x 9 cm (side intake). I have a Vantec Nexus fan controller slowing them down to the minimum 1200 rpm.

No complaint about temperatures, but I'm guessing you can get much quieter fans than the cheapo TT ones (rated 21dBA btw). However it seems most of the 'silent' types aren't LED. Any options here for LED fans which are quieter? They're pretty quiet already, but they do make up most of the noise the PC makes.

Cheers,
Simon.

volt molts those to 7v, much quieter (I have one of the TT Thunderblades) as you know the noise from the TT is air whooshing, they shift a fair bit of air though. They aren't 21dB, but 77cfm feels about right.

TBH the Vantec Nexus has them down to 8V already, so I don't know if I'd see much improvement from another 1V, plus I like having control over them.

Pretty sure the thunderblades do buzz a bit, I don't think it's just the air you can hear. If I put them up to 15V the buzz becomes obvious. Compared with my VF900 fan or the Freezer 64 Pro fan, which don't buzz even at high speed when they're shifting some air. Having said that the Thunderblades have served me well for the money. The rattly TT Tsunami case I have doesn't help.

SilenX iXtrema Pro look the business, but pricey at £40 for two

The Coolink ones look ok if I ditched the LED idea. The Scythe and Zalman look decent too, and they're probably a bit more honest with their specs.

Cheers lads :)
