quietest 40mm fan you can get

in after the quietest fan you can get as the one in my toshiba hd player is quite noisey and want to replace it,anyone got any ideas to the best there is cheers

No idea, I think it's going to be hard to find one thats quieter than the current one.
Saying that I don't know how loud it is at the moment....

On the overclockers site, I see you can obtain a Scythe Mini-Kaze 40mm:
- Output - 4.11CFM
- Decibels - 14dBA

Looking elsewhere you could pick up a Rasurbo Quiet 40mm:
- Output 8.0 CFM
- Decibels - 19.0 dBA

Looks like you have to pay the price noise-wise to get better CFM.

You might find that the specs on those fans are innacurate. The only way to be sure is to buy a few, and try them all, unfortunately.

going to go for this one but it looks as if it doesnt have the threads for the screws to screw into,will it cheers

The fan wouldn't have the threads, it would be whatever the fans being mounted to that would have the threads.

cheers helmutcheese but the one on overclockers is quieter and ive ordered the Acousti Ultra-Soft Arrowhead Fan Mounts so it should be ok then,cheers for the help
